Welcome to the local void. This is where I dump my space trash. Writing fragments, bad writings, random thoughts, other stuff that doesn't deserve to be anywhere else on the site. Enjoy.
(if you can)
[The following is a transcription of a radio call on September 6th, 2028, four months in to the American government's anti-Zed liberation campaign, occurring between a soldier and the sole survivor of the town REDACTED, Colorado.]
SOLDIER 1: This is the US Army, any station on this net? Over.
[Static]
SOLDIER: Any station on this net? This is the US Army and we are here to help. Over.
SURVIVOR: Hello? Hello? Are you there?
SOLDIER: Hello, sir. This is the army. We are approaching your location. Please tell us where you are, so that we can provide assistance. Over.
SURVIVOR: What the hell do you mean? No, no, no. You're all dead. You're all dead. This isn't- this isn't real.
SOLDIER: Sir, I can assure you that this is very much real. We are coming to help you. Not yet, but soon. Please tell us which building you are located in, so that we can help you when the time comes.
[Static]
SOLDIER: Sir?
SURVIVOR: No. There is no army. They got all of you. You're all a part of them now, all of you! There isn't anyone left on this fucking planet! I'm the only one. I'm the only one!
SOLDIER: Sir, our troops are approaching from the north side of town, by the grocery store. If you look outside-
SURVIVOR: Oh God! When did you fuckers learn to talk? I know what you're doing. You want me to go out there so you can have me. Well, guess what, you fuckers? You'll never have me! Never! I'll blow my fucking brains out before I join you. You hear me? DO YOU HEAR ME?!
SOLDIER: Sir! I promise you, this is not a hallucination. This is the Army of the United States of America. I'm talking to you from a tent near our camp. Our troops are currently bogged down, eradicating the infestation in your town. We're winning, but it might be a while before we reach you. Can't you hear the gunfire?
[Static]
SOLDIER: Sir? Can you hear me?
SURVIVOR [shaking]: It's really you? You're really coming back?
SOLDIER: Of course, sir. Haven't you heard? We're taking this country, we're taking this planet back.
SURVIVOR: Oh god...
SOLDIER: Just hold out for a little bit longer, we'll be there. Hold your position.
SURVIVOR: I'm at the hotel. Mountain Lodge hotel, building two. You're coming? You promise?
SOLDIER: I promise. Just a little bit longer.
SURVIVOR [sobbing]: Oh god! Oh god! Fuck! I didn't- i didn't- I thought... I had a month of food left, man. When it ran out I was gonna fucking kill myself. Thirty bullets, man. All I had was thirty bullets.
SOLDIER: Just a little bit longer. Just a little bit longer.
SURVIVOR: I didn't think I'd ever see anyone else again. I thought I was gonna die and...
SOLDIER: It's okay, sir. We're coming. Do not lose hope.
SURVIVOR: I had to shoot my dad, man. I had to kill everybody. I had to. They were already dead, you hear? I had to do it! They were gonna kill me first!
SOLDIER: Nobody's going to hold it against you, it's okay. What's your name?
SURVIVOR: Steven P. Edwards. Steven P. Edwards. My name is Steven P. Edwards.
SOLDIER: Well, Steven, it's okay. Nobody's blaming you.
SURVIVOR: That's the first time I've heard my name in months! Oh god, I thought I would forget it. I thought I'd die before I heard it again since- since...
SOLDIER: We're coming, Steven. We don't see as many of them in the area as before. We're winning.
SURVIVOR: You know... you know... I wasn't always by myself. My brother was here too. His name was Tom. He couldn't take it anymore. Oh god... he wanted me to do it. He wanted me to!
SOLDIER: ... It's okay, Steven.
SURVIVOR: He said to bury his head, but that I could eat the rest of him. And I did it! I was so hungry. Oh god. I loved him, you don't understand. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry.
SOLDIER: It's okay, Steven. I forgive you. We're on our way.

- "I've never once won an argument. I lose without fail. I'm inevitably overwhelmed by the strength of my opponent's conviction and the awfulness of his or her self-affirmation. I sink into silence."
- "Whenever I'm with people, no matter how great my mental or physical suffering, I try desperately to create a happy atmosphere. It's only after parting with the company that I stagger away exhausted to think about money and morality and suicide."
- "I do not posses what is called 'literary genius'. I know no technique other than to ram ahead with my entire being. I am boorish and unrefined."

Our "hero" is sitting at a corner table in an airport PF Chang's. A pale, wiry, inconspicuous specimen with his unkempt brown hair streaming over his face and a black rain jacket to shroud himself into an unoticeable bundle. Not a single soul so much as glances at him, and no one imagines that this pale sap has for a soul a gaping hole of black hatred that would turn the stomach of any genocidal dictator. His hatred is perfect and complete. Between sips of egg drop soup he observes his fellow human beings with unmatched levels of contempt. When he turns his gaze of hate on one of them, he hates them from the inside out, from their bones to their souls. He hates the ones who are too damaged, who are too perfect, who have trashy clothes or expensive ones, the liberals, the conservatives, those who are too weak to stand for anything; he hates them for being polluting, loud, angry, hairless apes who whine too much about climate change or who fervently deny it; look at this man with a sleevless tank emblazoned with the flag, look how flamboyant and noisy he is, how sure of himself, how he talks to that woman at the bar like she's there only for his entertainment, and look at those two young men drinking beer and screaming every time a goal is scored in TV, and that woman with the repulsive purple and green hair. Oh, he hates them all, he hates breathing the same air as them, looking at them, it makes his skin crawl. But out of all of these apes, there is the one he hates the most, one he knows things he can only assume about others, that he is a conniving, spoiled, pathetic, bigoted, heretical, hypocrite worthy by all means of the death sentence. Himself, of course.
- All the Ghosts You Will Be- Vsauce. I aspire to be as weird as this man and use my power so well.
- Are you just living day to day?- 4yvn. I watch this when I'm sad and suddenly I find I'm at least a little less so.
- The Nightmare of Eduardo Valdéz-Hevia- Curious Archive. Another one of my favorite channels. The video's kinda old so you can also go to the artist's site for more recent stuff.
- ANTEDILUVIAN- Mario Lanzas. A paleoart animated short, what's not to love?
- The Brainrot Apocalypse- struthless. Well made and forever occupies a special place in my heart for helping me discover Neocities.
I know the background image is actually the Bootes void, but for some reason there's no good pretty picture of the Local Void like there is of the Bootes. Thought I'd put that out there so that everyone knows I care about properly attributing supervoids. Also, special thanks to Wriorango for the layout idea behind this page. Gotta give credit where it's due.
